Art Düsseldorf 2023
For Art Düsseldorf 2023, Ruttkowski;68 spotlights nine international perspectives on contemporary art from the gallery’s program: Antwan Horfee, Carlotta Bailly-Borg, Carolin Eidner, Conny Maier, Frédéric Platéus, Luciano Calderon, Meuser, Philip Emde and Prosper Legault.
A compilation of outstanding positions revealing both formal as well as thematic cross-connections, where dialogues will open-up about reality and its perception, construction and deconstruction, conception and vandalism, subculture, social-systems and what arises within and around.
While German classic Meuser and young French artist Prosper Legault work with found material in different approaches, the figurative painting of Conny Maier stands in contrast to the abstraction of Antwan Horfee. While Frédéric Platéus and Luciano Calderon work with aesthetics of advertising, representations of animals play a role in the works of Carolin Eidner and Philip Emde in very diverging ways.
Altogether, an exciting interplay and clash of emerging and established artists – a promising outlook on artistic positions to be shown at Ruttkowski;68 currently and in the near future.
