From Oktober, 2023 to January 16, 2024, the Städtische Galerie Ostfildern will present Fabian Treiber solo exhibition.

Stuttgart-based artist Fabian Treiber presents paintings that combine architectural views and vistas with depictions of landscape. Individual objects and traces of human presence are combined with ideas of landscapes, plants, grasses and vegetation. With his very own pictorial language, he creates a surreal, mysterious and specific atmosphere. This enables viewers to develop their own interpretations and turn the pictorial worlds into projection spaces for their own associations, interpretations and stories.

Purposefully placed flat areas create the impression of vastness and infinity. Precisely placed linear representations provide the eye with support, structure the surfaces and allow us to zoom into the details with our eyes, as it were. The pictures thus appear simultaneously flat and deep, are two-dimensional and ornamental at the same time. His color spectrum conveys an impression of lightness, moving in the realm of pastel colors, appearing light and clear.

Windows, doors and stairs mark the threshold between inside and outside, yet the boundaries remain fluid and open to reinterpretation. There are no fixed definitions. Everything is in flux, in motion, transforming. Fabian Treiber gives us new perspectives on what we think we know.
