PROSPER LEGAULT WINS CITY OF PARIS PRIX 1% MARCHÉ DE L’ART

FOR THE 5TH EDITION, THE JURY REVIEWED 72 SUBMISSIONS AND ONLY SIX LAUREATS WERE SELECTED

Prosper Legault is a French visual artist born in 1994. He is well known for his sculptures that combine symbols from the streets of Paris and its suburbs.

The 5th edition of the Prix 1 % Marché de l’art supports artistic creation by awarding six winners a grant to help develop their projects.

The Prix 1% Marché de l’art is a scheme run by the City of Paris and Crédit Municipal de Paris (CMP) to support artistic creation by visual artists.

For this year’s competition, the City of Paris and the CMP have decided to revise the scheme to allow French and International artists to apply.

Chaired this year by Céline Poulin, director of the Île-de-France Regional Fund for Contemporary Art (FRAC), the jury convened on June 26, 2023, with the following experts: Paula Aisemberg, Director of Artistic Projects at the Emerige Group; Jennifer Flay, President of the advisory committee of Paris + by Art Basel; and Vittoria Matarrese, Director of the Bally Foundation (Lugano).

For this 5th edition, the jury reviewed 72 project submissions, and six laureates were selected.
