The well-known German actor Lars Eidinger also attracts attention with his photo work. After an exhibition in the Hamburger Kunsthalle and a photo picture book, Eidinger presents a comprehensive exhibition of photographs, video works and sculptures exclusively for Klagenfurt.
Bitter, ironic, with childlike enthusiasm and morbid wit, overlooked states and marginalized groups are shown. A balancing act between empathy and art consumption, movement and standstill opens up to Eidinger the contradiction between good death and bad life.
“The pictures were taken within many years and all over the world,” says Lars Eidinger, about the photographs, which were taken partly with the SLR camera, but mostly with the mobile phone. Shots whose subject often only deciphers when the pictures are looked through later. This is also how the audience should experience the exhibition.
The project is an event of the Stadtgalerie Klagenfurt in cooperation with the Klagenfurt Festival.
Overlooks is until 27. August in the Stadtgalerie Klagenfurt.
Open: Daily except Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
